Reports suggesting Arsenal could sign Benjamin Šeško on loan from RB Leipzig are wide of the mark.
That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze, who reports that there is no chance Leipzig would loan out the striker this month.
Arsenal are expected to be in the hunt for a forward this month as their lack of a striker continues to be a problem for Mikel Arteta. Fans and pundits have urged movement, and Arteta has hinted they are working on potential additions.
Šeško has been named as a target for years and a recent report indicated that they could sign him on loan with an option to buy.
Hinze reports that this is ‘wide of the mark’. According to his information, Šeško does not have a release clause in his current deal. Leipzig are free to negotiate his transfer fee because of that.
Therefore, it would make little sense for them to loan out one of their most valuable players. It would also make little sense to loan out a key player in the middle of the season.
They want to keep Šeško this month. There are no talks and no negotiations happening around him at this moment in time. That includes with Arsenal.
