Following his great performance against Barcelona, Arsène Wenger once again recalled why and how Arsenal failed to attract Kylian Mbappé on a free.

It’s a story that he’ll never live down, such is the player’s ability these days, but there are other youngsters out there with bright futures, and the Gunners could be trying to make up for their previous mistakes going forward.

One of those being looked at in Ligue 1, according to French journalist Cédric Drouet, who works for Perform and commentates on games for DAZN, is Montpellier’s Elye Wahi.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a good first eight appearances for the club this season, thrown in at the deep end in December, and making cameos ever since, scoring three goals along the way.

This has already earned him ‘attention from some big clubs’ , with Arsenal allegedly showing ‘strong interest’ in the young forward.

That’s about all there is to it, but if you were to ask us if we are to going to believe that the Gunners are looking in France for some talent, the answer will be yes.

After all, they have a history of doing so, and showing interest in someone doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll buy him.

Either way, that’s the information put out there, and we’ll keep an eye on it to see if anything more comes from it.
