Arsenal look well placed to qualify for the Champions League this season, despite Tottenham Hotspur knocking them out of the top four.

The two London clubs are level on points, but Mikel Arteta’s side have two games in hand, giving them an advantage as the season gets to its most serious weeks.

Qualifying for UEFA’s elite competition will be a huge boost for the Gunners in the transfer market. Not only will it help provide extra funds to bring players in, Arsenal will also be a more attractive prospect than they would be if in the Europa League.

That makes signing Darwin Nunez a possibility, and reports in Portugal have made it clear the Uruguayan is keen to continue to have Champions League football at a new club, just like he has with Benfica now.

Inter Milan have been linked, but Inter Live now believe the Serie A club are edging away because the costs of the deal will simply be too high for them. According to the report, Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham, AC Milan and Inter Milan have all ‘set their sights’ on the striker.

For the Milan clubs it’s likely the cost of a deal will be beyond them. For the Premier League trio, it’s Arsenal who look the best placed, largely due to their advantage in sealing a top fourth berth this campaign.
