Haberturk claim Besiktas will again meet with Arsenal after failing to agree on the removal of Oguzhan Ozyakup’s sell on clause.
Due to an agreement between the two clubs, Besiktas will need to pay 30% of Ozyakup’s next sale to Arsenal, and the Turkish club are working very hard to cancel this clause.
With Arsenal also said to interested, HaberTurk claim Besiktas offered €1.5m to Arsenal to cancel the clause, but the English club rejected it.
According to newspaper, Besiktas president Fikret Orman is determined to remove to clause as he thinks they could get a very good fee from their captain in the future and he doesn’t want to pay Arsenal the sell on fee.
Haberturk report both sides will meet again in the coming days to remove the clause, and Besiktas hope agreement can be reached.
Theese talks will also be interesting after Arsenal offered Besiktas €7m in the last window to sign Ozyakup, but this was rejected by the Turkish champions.
However, Arsenal are said to be still interested in the player, and Arsene Wenger could snap up his former player on a free this summer.
Besiktas want to renew Ozyakup’s contract but it seems their stance at the moment is sorting out the Arsenal clause first.
It’s a strange situation because Arsenal may be due 30%, but Besiktas’ getting 100% of nothing isn’t helpful.
