Back in November, Le Buteur in Algeria ran a story that Arsene Wenger would be open to the idea of letting young midfielder Ismaël Bennacer go out on loan this January.
With just under 30 hours left in the transfer window, it seems the Arsenal manager could be keeping his promise, as FootMercato in France are reporting the player is very close to securing a six month loan deal away from the club.
The French website claim the Gunners are currently in ‘serious’ discussions with Ligue 2 outfit Tours over the possible transfer, and seem fairly confident this could happen.
Bennacer, who earned his first cap for Algeria back in September, was said by Le Buteur to be looking for first-team football after spending a year and a half with the club’s reserves.
The 19-year-old has made 12 appearances for Arsenal’s U23s this season, captaining five of them, only missing the outing against Derby’s reserves in September.
He signed from Arles-Avignon back in July 2015 for just over £250k.
Furthering the claims are Téléfoot, who report on Monday afternoon the player is currently undergoing his medical ahead of the move.
