As the Italian media continues to make it clear that Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli is very interested in joining Juventus, it’s impressive how his rejection to Arsenal continues to be highlighted by local reports.

Now it’s outlet Calcio Mercato who writes an exclusive story explaining that the Gunners have submitted a bid for the 23-year-old.

Arsenal are described as being ‘serious’ about the signing, and the first club to present a ‘concrete offer’.

According to the website, Arsenal are offering €40m to take him from Sassuolo. And even though the proposal is considered to be ‘big’, that still shouldn’t be enough for the move.

Calcio Mercato doesn’t make it clear if that’s the Serie A side who are turning it down or if it’s Locatelli who doesn’t want the move.

Still, it’s once again highlighted that the player wants to sign for Juventus, and the Old Lady are set to finally go ‘seriously’ for him.

After many years of covering transfer rumours, we’d say these stories sound like pressure building for Juve to finally go and make a bid for him.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to take their shots.
