On June 23rd, we relayed news from France that Arsenal are ‘still active’ in chasing Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, after failing to sign him last summer.
It’s ‘no secret’ the Gunners are interested in the midfielder and have ‘just taken action’ to sign him this summer.
That’s according to Le10 Sport, who add Arsenal have ‘sent a transfer offer’ to the Ligue 1 side as they hope to ‘get their hands’ on the 22-year-old.
The France international unofficially has an exit ticket and his club are looking for around €20-€25m from his sale.
Although Le10 are not informed about the details of the proposal tabled by the north London club, they state their proposal ‘would not be very far’ from Lyon’s demands. The case is ‘progressing well’ between the French club and Mikel Arteta’s side.
Apart from the Premier League side, there are other clubs across Europe, like Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid, interested in the player.
Arsenal’s offer, however, ‘clearly awakens the Aouar file’ and ‘things are accelerating for Lyon’.
Lyon are hoping to offload players before bringing new faces to the club and Aouar’s exit could be of great help for them in making new additions in this window.
