Yesterday Arsenal sent an official to Italy to get a lowdown on Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, claim TMW. The young Czech has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past 12 months, along with West Bromwich Albion.

TMW have reported Arsenal sent a scout to the game between Torino and Udinese on Sunday, with the purpose of watching Jankto. This isn’t the first time the Premier League side have travelled to Italy to check up on the progression of the Czech international, with claims they were even watching the player when he was playing on loan with Ascoli last season.

There has been recent speculation the youngster may leave Udinese in the summer, and that a move to the Premier League is a possibility. The 20-year-old recently said he would be open to move to England, and didn’t plan to remain in Serie A.

Last month we covered claims from Italy that West Brom had joined the race to sign Jankto. It was reported West Brom have travelled to Italy to get a lowdown on the Czech U21 international before making a possible move for him in the summer.

Tony Pulis will be looking to strengthen their squads in the next window, and Jankto is an option for the Premier League side. Growing interest in the player, from Arsenal and others, could provide difficult competition for West Brom.
