Arsenal are interested in a striker, and it’s not Gonzalo Higuain, Alexandre Lacazette or Mauro Icardi.
According to Bild in Germany, the Premier League club are keeping an eye on Hoffenheim’s 19-year-old gem Philipp Ochs, who broke into the first-team late last season, starting six of his 14 appearances in the league.
Also a member of Germany’s U19s, the forward, who can play anywhere across the front three, recently scored a hat-trick for his country as they lost 4-3 to Portugal during the U19 European Championships.
The German newspaper say Arsenal scouts have been very impressed with the youngster, to the extent where they have a ‘crush’ on him.
The player refused to comment on speculation while at the tournament, while his agent wasn’t surprised by the attention, saying he’d received a lot even prior to the international competition with strong performances at club level.
As for juicy information about a potential move, he refused to give anything away as he’d never done so before and wouldn’t start now.
