Arsenal said to be ‘on verge’ of signing striker – €120m package being worked on

Portuguese outlet Leonino again insists that Arsenal are close to the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting.

Earlier this week, the website featured a story claiming there are just ‘financial details’ holding up the deal between the clubs.

They’re today back with a new story, this time stating Arsenal are ‘on the verge’ of getting the signing done.

Leonino bring some numbers this time. And even though Sporting were said to be demanding €100m, which is the price on Gyokeres’ release clause, it’s said there’s another formula being worked on.

The website writes that Arsenal and the Lions agreed on a €90m fee, which performance bonuses which could reach €120m. The add-ons are linked to number of goals, Champions League appearances, and titles for the London side.

Like we said before, Leonino is a Sporting-dedicated website which is far from having the same importance as the most traditional Portuguese outlets.

Sporting have been making attempts to sign a striker, at relatively big fees for them, so they may well be concerned that Gyokeres could be on his way.
