Earlier on Thursday, we covered a story from Corriere dello Sport claiming that Juventus were really interested in signing Gabriel Magalhaes from Arsenal.
Contacts had already been made regarding a potential transfer, but with the Gunners wanting something close to €50m for the Brazilian, the inclusion of Arthur might be necessary to please all involved.
However, TuttoMercatoWeb have it differently, claiming it’s Arsenal who have ‘returned to knock on Juventus’ door’ to see if ‘this time there is the possibility of setting up an operation for the sale’ of the midfielder.
The problem is ‘today the only possibility to transfer Arthur to London is that of an exchange’, which is something the player’s agent, Federico Cherubini, ‘on a mission in the English capital’ has already ‘discussed’ with those in charge at the Emirates.
Who to trade from Arsenal’s end? The two names put forward are, of course, Gabriel, while the ‘other name is that of Thomas Partey’.
We’ll have to wait and see, but it appears there are mixed messages coming out of Italy at the moment on this, and we’d take all this with a pinch of salt for the time being until reports start falling in line with each other a bit more.
