Arsenal are in the picture to sign Juventus’ Arthur Melo in the summer window, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Gunners were keen on signing the 25-year-old in January and their interest was confirmed by his agent. No deal took shape and the midfielder finished the last campaign with the Turin club.
Arsenal are back for the former Barcelona man and the track leading to the Emirates has ‘warmed up again’ in the last few hours.
It’s said the talks between the Serie A side and the north London club have ‘resumed’, after negotiations in the winter market.
Juventus are scheduled to travel to the United States on Thursday. The Old Lady and the Brazil international are evaluating the possibility of the latter staying in Italy, although he has not yet received any official confirmation so far.
The report states the two parties don’t want to drag out negotiations, in order to avoid Arthur training alone. In this regard, TMW explain the ‘next few days can be important’ for the South American’s sale.
Apart from Arsenal, Barcelona must also be monitored until the end. There was a talk of AS Roma interest, but this possibility doesn’t please the player. For now, it’s Arsenal or Barca for Arthur.
