Arsenal could face competition from Napoli for Anderlecht star Sambi Lokonga, although he is focused on joining the Gunners.
That’s according to Tutto Napoli, citing Sky Sport, who say the Serie A side’s hopes of getting the midfielder ‘all depends’ on the Gunners.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Lokonga over the last few weeks, with club icon Thierry Henry reportedly having sold him to the club.
The north London side are keen and have been working on a deal but are yet to match Anderlecht’s €20m asking price for the midfielder.
All signs point towards them doing so at some point, with it heavily suggested over the last week or so that a deal was getting close.
Sky say they could face competition from Napoli, though, as he is the ‘latest market idea’ for the Serie A club.
He has also been contacted by another Italian club, Atalanta, but at the moment, his ‘priority’ is a move to Arsenal.
Everything will depend on the Gunners and their ‘willingness’ to close the deal, which, if reports are to be believed, is high.
If they don’t finalise things, though, it seems Lokonga will have options elsewhere.
