Arsenal continue to be pointed out as one of the potential destinations for Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo this summer.

Today, Portuguese newspaper Record features a story highlighting the interest from Lyon, as the Ligue 1 are the latest club to join the list of interested sides.

The outlet, however, doesn’t forget mentioning that Grimaldo is wanted by many clubs, and Arsenal ‘are also very attentive to the situation’.

It’s claimed the full-back’s transfer this summer is a ‘strong possibility’, since the player has entered the final year of contract and doesn’t seem willing to renew it.

Therefore, it’s Benfica’s intention to sell him now instead of risking losing him for free.

In case Arsenal or any other clubs come for his signing, it’s said the Eagles will demand €7.5m for his transfer.

It was last week that the Gunners were linked with Grimaldo, as claims from the Portuguese media said Mikel Arteta’s side enquired about the possibility of a move.

At the time, it was highlighted by the local media that the Arsenal manager and the Benfica player share the same agency.
