With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring more own goals than goals in the past five league games, Arsenal are struggling going forward.

Alexandre Lacazette isn’t really faring any better, meaning the Gunners have only found the back of the net once in the Premier League since their 1-0 win over Manchester United, and they weren’t even able to win then as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That’s why it isn’t entirely surprising to see them linked with a rather prolific forward, currently second in the Ligue 1 scoring charts over in France behind Kylian Mbappé.

His name is Boulaye Dia, and he currently plays for Stade de Reims, where he has started the campaign terrifically with eight goals in 12 games.

He was a target for Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, but Arsenal have now joined the race, according to Le10 Sport.

Everton are also in the mix, and the French website explain both the Gunners and the Toffees have ‘positioned themselves recently’ ahead of the January transfer window, seemingly intent on challenging the French suitors in Marseille and Lyon.

There’s no mention of price in this particular article, but previous reports from France suggested a fee of around €12-15m could do the trick, with Reims unlikely to stand in their star’s way, having given him an exit pass should a decent offer come along.
