Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior could be set for a return to Italy this summer, with Napoli and Atalanta both working on a move for him.
That’s according to Tutto Atalanta, who report that the Arsenal defender is concretely thinking about a departure from the Emirates and a return to Italy.
They explain that Napoli and Atalanta have been following the Polish defender to some time and are now ready to contend for him in the summer.
Atalanta have been scouting the defender for several months and manager Gian Piero Gasperini appreciates him for his ‘tactical ductility and technical qualities’. He believes he’d be ideal for the system he plays.
Several surveys have already been undertaken with the Arsenal defender’s entourage, and they remain vigilant about what might happen. Napoli, though, could be the ones to make the decisive step.
They already tried to sign Kiwior from Arsenal in the January transfer window. They asked for a loan, but the Gunners refused. They could now return this summer, with Champions League qualification behind them and a ‘consolidated relationship’ with Kiwior’s agents. He shares an agency with Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka.
Arsenal are asking for €35m to let Kiwior leave and will be hoping for several suitors, which could also include AC Milan, to step forward and create an auction.
