Towards the end of last season, reports coming of Belgium said Arsenal are in the picture to sign Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.

The midfielder has less than 12 months left on his contract and hasn’t signed a new deal with the Foxes.

Back in June, he admitted “when you change clubs”, it will be because “there is a great project on the table”.

Brendan Rodgers admitted the 25-year-old was not in the right frame of mind to start for Leicester against Southampton at the weekend, meaning he came off the bench against the Saints.

Arsenal are still said to be in the mix to sign the Belgium integrational.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to say the player is in the Gunners’ target list and his profile is ‘validated’ by Mikel Arteta.

Tavolieri further explained ‘next week will be decisive’ since Arsenal are ‘ready to make a second bid’ to sign the Belgium international.

It’s to be noted there is no mention of details of the first bid made by the north London club for the Leicester player.

Apart from Tielemans, Arsenal’s board have AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Moisés Caicedo on their agenda.
