On Sunday, we covered claims from Italy which stated Arsenal are ready to sell Lucas Torreira for around €24m, and fully prepared to take the payment in stages.
The Gunners were presented as being against a loan, yet open to other methods of spreading the cost for Torino.
Calciomercato now reports things have taken a step forward.
It’s explained Arsenal and the Serie A club reached an agreement ‘in the last few hours’ for the midfielder to return to Italian football.
That agreement relates to the €24m transfer fee, and now it’s a case of sorting out other details. Calciomercato doesn’t explain what those details are, but it’s quite possibly related to how many payments will make up the amount, and potentially some kind of pay-off for Torreira.
Torino are financing the move by selling Armando Izzo to AS Roma, according to the claims, and it’s thought the transfer fee received for the defender will be similar to what is sent to Arsenal for the Uruguayan.
