Earlier this month, it was reported that Fiorentina and Arsenal had reached some sort of agreement regarding the transfer of Dušan Vlahovic.
A fee of €80m was reportedly on the table for the Serbian striker, with Mikel Arteta wanting to strengthen his attack as best he can, but it appears nothing went any further.
One of the reasons for that, it seems, at least according to Corriere Fiorentino, is that the player has ‘no intention’ of leaving his club midway through the season, preferring to wait until the summer so he can start afresh with a preseason ahead of him.
And this is all despite the newspaper claiming that Arsenal have even ‘raised the offer’, which we can only assume is the one to the player, but Vlahovic still isn’t interested.
That’s a blow for the Gunners, although an understandable decision from the player, who is currently thriving in Italy, knowing full well that with his form, his suitors will still be there in six months time, when he can sit down and think more about it without any football distracting him along the way.
The 21-year-old has so far scored 14 goals in 16 games for the Serie A side this season in all competitions, as well as picking up two assists along the way.
