Arsenal and Juventus are reportedly considered the biggest threats to take 21 year old Lorenzo Pellegrini from Roma in the summer market.

Website Calcio Mercato has a story about the player today, explaining the situation around his possible stay at the Giallorossi.

The outlet claims that Pellegrini wants to stay, and is likely to, as long as Roma give him some assurances about his role at the club for the future. That’s why he would be close to signing a new contract this summer.

But in case things don’t go well, then some clubs would be happy to take him. The contenders in Italy would be Juventus, while in England, it’s ‘above all’ Arsenal, and also the Manchester clubs.

Pellegrini has a release clause of around €30m, which is obviously not a lot for these pretenders. But this amount would raise in case a new contract is signed this summer, so getting him before that would be a smart move for the interested sides.

But if he doesn’t want to move, and Roma want to keep him, then the whole thing seems irrelevant for Arsenal and everyone else.
