Arsenal are one of a number of clubs ‘queuing up’ to sign Naby Keita from Red Bull Leipzig, report German newspaper Bild. Keita has contributed 6 goals and 7 assists to RB in the Bundesliga this campaign, and all from a midfield position.

Arsene Wenger isn’t the only manager at a big club taking a shine to Keita, with Bild explaining Liverpool, PSG, and Bayern Munich are also keen on the 22 year old.

Turning that interest into a transfer is going to be very difficult for Arsenal and the others. Keita doesn’t have a buyout clause, and his contract lasts until June 2020, meaning RB are under zero pressure to sell the player.

Arsenal will likely have to submit an offer RB find so ridiculous it’s impossible to refuse, Bild give no idea of price but given they title their article ‘better than Pogba’, the insinuation is the fee would be eye watering.

Are Arsenal interested enough to break records? Will Wenger blow the war chest on Naby Keita? Probably not, judging upon the past, but this summer could be a very different one for Arsenal and Wenger, one seeing transfer wild abandon.
