Arsenal have put their foot down on potential exits for Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu this month, refusing to loan out either player to AC Milan.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say Arsenal are uninterested in letting either defender leave on a temporary basis this month.
The newspaper explains that Milan are already working to strengthen themselves this month, keen to get their business done early so they can attack the second half of the season with a stronger squad for Stefano Pioli.
They’re already making their moves and meeting various agents, and two players they had their eye on are at Arsenal, namely Kiwior and Tomiyasu.
The former ‘has been and still would be’ the priority for them this month but ‘there is a problem’ and that is Arsenal’s refusal to loan him out.
The Gunners ‘have said no’ to such a proposal and provided a similar response when it came to enquiries regarding Tomiyasu as well. Whether they’re open to the idea of permanent exits isn’t made clear.
Either way, they’ve put their foot down and seemingly told Milan in no uncertain terms that neither defender will be leaving on loan this month, forcing the Italian side to look elsewhere for the players that they want.
