Ivan Gazidis last month left Arsenal and is expected to take up a role with AC Milan shortly.
It’s all change at the top of Italian football as Beppe Marotta is also leaving Juventus, with claims he could be on his way to Milan, just like Gazidis, but to Inter instead.
Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with Marotta over the past few days, and Thursday’s edition of Tuttosport reports the Gunners have already made a proposal.
Trying to get ahead of the competition, it’s claimed by the Turin newspaper that Arsenal have put forward a €3.5m a year offer for the CEO. Footballer’s wages in Italy are usually reported after tax, but it’s not clear whether that extends to this off pitch position.
The offer is said to be temping for Marotta, however, Tuttosport don’t think that means he’s off to Arsenal in the near future. An Inter switch is still thought to be the likeliest outcome, despite the Premier League club coming forward.
Marotta can choose his own destination in 10 days, and start work straightaway.
