On Monday, an announcement was made by Julien Laurens that Arsenal had yet to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a contract renewal.

The striker’s current deal expires in 2021, meaning this summer would be the last time the Gunners could recoup some of their initial £60m expenditure from back in 2018.

Since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund, the Gabon international has found the back of the net 61 times in 97 appearances, as well as assisted another 13, and continues to produce at a high level despite entering his 30s last year.

However, Le10 Sport do offer some hope for Arsenal fans, as they confirm the fact the club haven’t presented Aubameyang with a new deal, but that doesn’t mean they won’t.

It’s stated the Premier League club ‘are preparing to move in the direction of the player’s father’, who is also his representative, knowing full well that Arteta ‘wants to fervently rely’ on the forward in the future.

From Aubameyang’s end, the ‘door isn’t closed’, but ‘everything will depend on the financial question’.

Le10 explain he’s currently on a nice deal at the Emirates, and considering his age and that this could be his last big contract, he won’t just renew ‘at any condition’.

As for whether Arsenal will have the money to meet his demands, ‘it’s too soon to tell’.
