Dani Ceballos’ consistent ‘winking’ at former club Real Betis could earn him the return to the club he really wants when he leaves Arsenal.
The Spanish midfielder has spent the last two years on loan with the Gunners, getting the regular game time that hasn’t been on offer at Real Madrid.
He’s expected to return to the Spanish giants this summer but is likely to be on the move once again, with Zinedine Zidane known to be uncertain about whether he wants the midfielder.
Ceballos has made his desires clear for some time, with him regularly sharing how he would like to return to former club Real Betis if given the chance, according to Estadio Deportivo.
This week saw him hinting again, with the Arsenal midfielder first posting about his Betis debut seven years ago and then yesterday commenting that he watches all of Betis’ games and even their press conferences.
He’s made things very clear, and while it’s accepted he would ‘considerably raise’ the level of Betis’ midfielder, a deal is difficult for them to get done.
Estadio explain that because Ceballos belongs to Real Madrid, has two years left on his current deal and a new loan is ‘unfeasible’ after two years at Arsenal, that makes is ‘very difficult’ for Betis to get him this summer.
The player, for his part, knows that sooner or later, he will return to his former club and wants to ‘pave his way’ after a disputed departure in 2017.
That is why he is constantly hinting and ‘winking’ about a move, although it seems unless there is some movement financially or Madrid sanction another loan move, it won’t be happening this year.
