The Brazilian media features some more updates on the future of Arsenal defender David Luiz.

UOL columnist Bruno Andrade says the player has two desires for this summer: he’d either return to his former club Benfica, or sign for a club from his home country.

It’s claimed he talked about these options with people close to him, as he’s ready to become a free agent following the end of his contract with the Gunners.

The report says few Brazilian sides would have the financial conditions to sign David Luiz, and those would be Flamengo, Palmeiras, Atlético Mineiro and Internacional. UOL also points out that his wish to play for Benfica again is ‘old and public’.

They bring a report which is focused on Flamengo, claiming the Rio de Janeiro side are ‘monitoring’ the defender’s situation, but are still to make any contacts. The player, meanwhile, is said to see ‘with good eyes’ a potential move to the club.
