Alexandre Lacazette has featured regularly for Arsenal since the start of last month, even though it’s unclear if he will still be at the Emirates beyond this season.

The striker’s current deal expires in 2022 and there has been no renewal in sight for the 30-year-old.

Faced with the possibility of leaving the Gunners as a free agent next summer, his name has been associated with other clubs. Among them are Atlético Madrid, who reportedly wanted the player before he joined the north London club from Lyon in 2017.

La Razón relay claims made in Germany that Karim Adeyemi’s agent has offered the Red Bull Salzburg star to Diego Simeone’s side and Real Madrid.

Although the Germany international seems to be an exciting option for Los Rojiblancos, La Razón state Lacazette is ‘more affordable than Karim Adeyemi’ for the La Liga winners.

That’s because the Frenchman has decided against renewing his contract with Mikel Arteta’s side due to his ‘intention of joining’ Atlético next summer.

Lacazette will be available on a free transfer at the end of the current season and he will be a cheaper option than Adeyemi for the Spanish club.
