Last week we covered initial reports from Greece that Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is a target for Panathinaikos and AEK.
Both Greek sides are looking to strengthen their squads for next season as they look to challenge for the league and the Arsenal youngster was said to an option.
However, according to new claims, the 21 year isn’t interested in returning to his home country and he’s rejected loan offers from Pana and their local rivals AEK.
Mavropanos has reportedly decided to wait for his chance under Unai Emery, and SDNA also report he’s turned down approaches from the Bundesliga and Eredivisie.
It was reported Panathinaikos sporting director Nikos Dabizas wants to make him the ‘leader’ of their defence but SDNA say he’s determined to stay at Arsenal and prove himself at the Emirates.
The 21 year old played only four games in the Premier League last season and he’s under contract with the Gunners until June 2023.
It seems likely he will have wait to get his chance under Emery and he could again struggle to get games.
