Despite the many reports claiming Lucas Torreira was close to leaving Arsenal for Galatasaray, it now looks like the player is working hard to find another destination.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Italian media pointed out that the midfielder had asked the Turkish side ‘for time’ before he confirmed the move. So that was a reason for some interested clubs, such as Sampdoria, to try to find a deal with the Gunners.
Now as the Spanish media talks about the situation, outlet Deporte Valenciano writes that Torreira is currently ‘fighting’ to sign for Valencia.
It’s said he ‘stopped’ his transfer from Arsenal to Galatasaray as his idea ‘is to play at the Mestalla’ next season.
However, the transfer to Spain isn’t so simple. That’s because the Gunners ‘want money’ for it, and Valencia ‘don’t have it’. Plus the salary offered by Galatasaray is said to be bigger than what the La Liga side can cover.
So the failed move to Turkey is just ‘a good sign’ for now. The Mestalla club are set to evaluate the situation and see if after having the player’s will, they can make an attractive bid to Arsenal.
