Arsenal loaned midfielder Fabio Vieira to FC Porto in the summer.
This was done in the hope that the midfielder would play regularly and take his development to the next level.
Fitness issues and injuries have held back his progress and that was earlier confirmed by Porto boss Vitor Bruno, who revealed that Vieira was being assessed on a daily basis.
Despite that, things haven’t improved and the Arsenal man is still some way away from playing for the Portuguese side.
O Jogo have reported on the club’s training sessions, stating that they trained at Estádio do Dragão after returning from Norway after their loss to Bodo/Glimt. They also underwent a major recovery session.
Vieira was missing from the training and recovery and he is still receiving treatment for an injury, with the club also set to have a training session later today.
That is a bit concerning for the midfielder, who is yet to feature even once for Porto since his return in the summer. He’s not even been on the bench, and what was initially presented as a very minor problem is dragging on.
The 24-year-old did had muscle issues during his time at the Emirates and it seems he’s struggling to leave those behind.
