Arsenal plan to ‘accelerate’ their interest in Reims defender Axel Disasi in the coming days after seeing a bid for him rejected in January.
RMC Sport report that the Gunners are keen on the 22-year-old, who has impressed for the Ligue 1 side this season.
They tried to lure him away in the January transfer window and made a ‘concrete approach’, but the Reims management turned it down.
They’re intent on making at least €15m in any sale, excluding bonuses and a percentage on a future sale, and the Gunners bid seemingly did not match that.
Since then three, unnamed clubs have made €10m+ bid which have all been rejected as they fall below the French side’s valuation.
Arsenal have not yet ‘attacked’ but plan on doing so soon as they want to continue adding to their backline after securing William Saliba’s signature last summer.
Reims, for their part, are open to doing a deal and have already secured the signature of Wout Faes in an attempt to plan for Disasi’s departure.
That should make him an easy signing for Arsenal to make if they move quickly, although it seems there is plenty of competition for his signature.
