Arsenal are among the clubs showing interest in signing Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio in the summer.

On April 7th, Sport Mediaset stated that AC Milan are ‘serious’ about the 26-year-old and presented a proposal to him. The winger’s entourage informed the Serie A side that the Gunners have made an offer for Asensio.

Four days later, the same outlet explained that Arsenal are ‘capable of guaranteeing’ the player’s salary demands.

It was also reported the La Liga side want to renew the Spain international’s contract by offering him the same salary. His current deal expires in 2023 and he’s demanding a pay rise to sign an extension.

Calciomercato now report the player’s situation is of interest to Milan and Arsenal.

It’s claimed Asensio has ‘decided to change agents’ and will be represented by Jorge Mendes. This new development means there is a ‘possibility’ for him to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Besides Milan and Mikel Arteta’s side, there two other clubs; Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.

Antonio Conte’s side have appeared in the mix and Mendes would prefer taking the player to Spurs. Los Blancos, on the other hand, have made an ‘improved offer’ to Asensio, and therefore, his chance of staying at Real Madrid beyond 2023 is ‘rising’.

Arsenal are interested and in the picture to sign Asensio. It remains to be seen whether they can overcome competition to secure the Spaniard’s services.
