Arsenal are reportedly set to open talks for the Napoli attacker Lorenzo Isigne.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the Gunners have scouted the player during the match against Chievo this weekend and are now ready to advance for him.

Napoli are said to be negotiating a new contract to protect Insigne from other clubs’ interest, but while they are offering a salary of €3.2m plus bonuses, Insigne is asking for €5m/year.

The amount that Arsenal are willing to pay for Insigne is not mentioned by the journalist, although given how important the player currently is for Napoli, we know he won’t come cheap.

With nine goals and eight assists this season, the attacker is currently in superb form for Napoli, who are currently nine points behind Serie A leaders Juventus.

Besides having scored against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu for the Champions League last week, he also scored and walked away with an assist against Chievo in the game the Gunners were watching at the weekend.
