Following the news from England that Arsenal are taking an interest in Mykhaylo Mudryk, currently at Shakhtar Donetsk, an update from Italy suggests there’s more to it than that.
The claim comes from Rudy Galetti, who works for Sportitalia, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Gunners and the Ukrainian club have ‘ongoing talks’ for the winger.
It’s said the two clubs are ‘working to reach an agreement for a figure of €25m + bonuses’, which would see him come in as an alternative to Pedro Neto, whom Wolverhampton Wanderers are reluctant to sell.
Galetti adds ‘there is optimism for the positive closure of the deal’, suggesting Arsenal reckon they can get a deal over the line before the transfer window shuts.

Mudryk has 28 appearances to his name for Shakhtar, scoring two goals and picking up 10 assists during the course of his time with the first-team.
There has been talk that Everton could try and challenge Arsenal for this signing, although Galetti does seem to suggest a move to the Gunners looks more likely at this moment in time.
He would be the second Ukraine international to move to the Emirates this summer, following the acquisition of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City back in July.
