Arsenal scouting Benfica regularly this season leads to links with their players, and the latest one has been Goncalo Guedes.
Arsene Wenger had a spy watch Benfica beat Rio Ave 2-0 on Wednesday night, and that will fit snugly in and encourage further Guedes claims. However, that would likely be over the top, given that they scout Benfica frequently, it’s not an official especially making a trip just after Guedes interest was claimed.
It wasn’t the best game of the Portuguese season with Konstantinos Mitroglou and Pizzi scoring the goals. Arsenal have been linked with the Greek striker previously, again down to scouting. The player who stood out was Pizzi, a 27 year old attacking midfielder.
He can’t have failed to catch the attention of Arsenal’s official, but is very unlikely to be a target for the club.
Along with Arsenal, Manchester United were also on A Bola’s scouting list, and they too have been linked to several Benfica players in recent years.
