It’s no secret by now that Barcelona fullback Emerson Royal is very close to moving to North London, as several reports have been saying that Tottenham Hotspur have an agreement for his signing.
Spurs not only agreed a deal with the player, but apparently also convinced the Catalan side over accepting a €30m move, and are said to be sorting the final details for the transfer.
Now it turns out that according to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal tried to sign the Brazilian as well.
The outlet reveals that the Gunners had an offer turned down by Barcelona, as Tottenham’s bid was better for the club.
It’s been a long time since Arsenal started being linked to Emerson, as the Gunners were said to be following him since his time at Real Betis.
Now even though we are curious to know how much Mikel Arteta’s side put on the table for the Barcelona player, it seems it won’t matter, as he’s about to sign for Spurs instead.
