It’s no secret Arsenal are hoping to sign a defender in the last few days of the transfer window, but reports in France suggest Arsene Wenger could end up signing two of them.

Injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista has reportedly forced Arsenal to consider signing Valencia’s Skhodran Mustafi, but they’re also looking for options on the bench.

According to France Football, Arsenal are interested in signing AS Monaco’s Marcel Tisserand. France Football say Arsenal are keen on Skhodran Mustafi and Fabian Schär, but are also looking for players to provide cover on the bench and are considering Tisserand.

The 23-year-old spent the last season on loan at Ligue 1 club Toulouse. The Congolese defender is primarily a centre back, but also played a number of games at right back.

Tisserand has another three years left on his contract at AS Monaco, and a move to Arsenal should be tempting for the player.
