During the January transfer window, there was a belief that Arsenal could improve their right-back spot with the signing of Iván Fresneda.

The Real Valladolid starlet quickly became a target for many clubs, and the La Liga side were even bracing themselves to lose him, but that never happened.

That means a transfer would have to wait until the summer, and Gazzetta dello Sport explain on Wednesday that Juventus, who were seen as competition for Arsenal, are now looking elsewhere.

This is due to how much Fresneda would end up costing them, and that’s why they have now turned their attention to Emil Holm, the starting right-back at Spezia these days.

It’s pointed out that the Swede ‘intrigues’ Juventus and ‘has lower costs’ than the Spaniard, who is ‘in the sights of Arsenal’.

This makes it rather clear that Arsenal have the financial advantage in this race, and could fulfil the desire of the player, which is to leave Valladolid in a ‘historic sale’, as explained by his agent soon after the transfer window shut.

The 18-year-old quickly became a sensation with his performances at the La Liga side, showcasing everything clubs will want from a player in his role.

While he spent a few game days out of the squad throughout February, he has since returned to the squad for the past three league games, starting and finishing each of them.
