Granit Xhaka was jeered off by Arsenal supporters at the Emirates during the Gunners’ 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace last month, and responded to the crowd.

The midfielder hasn’t featured for the north London club since then, missing the last four matches in all competitions.

Swiss outlet RSI reported on Sunday the 27-year-old will leave Unai Emery’s side in January, despite publicly stating his desire to continue with the English side.

AC Milan were credited with an interest and it was also explained the player is already looking for a home in Milan.

These claims have been picked up Calciomercato and they state the Europa League runners-up haven’t lost hope of fixing their relationship with Xhaka, who is still considered an ‘important player’ at the club, both in terms of his contribution and experience.

Arsenal have received no formal offer for Xhaka so far and their aim is to soon sit down for talks with him and his representatives.

Milan are keeping an eye on his situation in London and are ready to seize an opportunity, if it’s presented to them in January. The Serie A side must also give detailed thought to Xhaka’s economic conditions, to work out if a San Siro move is possible.
