Arsenal have AC Milan’s Rafael Leão on their transfer agenda for the summer window.
That’s according to Sportialia, and their journalist, Gianluigi Longari covers Arsenal interest.
Arsenal appointed Andrea Berta as their new sporting director in March and prior to his decision to join them, Milan were also keen.
Longari claims Leão is ‘highly regarded’ both by the Italian director and the Gunners. He adds Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘not at all frightened’ by the Portugal international’s valuation.
There’s no mention of the Serie A club’s asking price, but the journalist claims it should at least ‘approach three figures’, meaning €100m or more, which apparently doesn’t scare the Premier League club.
According to Longari, Arsenal haven’t deepened discussions for the former Sporting man. They aren’t alone as he’s also being courted by clubs from Saudi Arabia. The details aren’t mentioned, but the reporter claims unnamed clubs would be ready to convince Leão.
Three days ago, Calciomercato’s Daniel Longo stated Chelsea have opened talks with the Milan star’s entourage. He also reported the Blues will face competition from Al-Nassr to sign the attacker.
Leão has managed 12 goals and 13 assists from 43 games this season.
