Arsenal are talking to Benjamin Šeško and Viktor Gyökeres at the same time, to avoid being left emptyhanded if deals don’t go their way this summer.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says Arsenal want to negotiate on several fronts so they can cover their backs.
He reports that RB Leipzig have staring negotiations with Arsenal over a deal for Šeško, who has been named among the Gunner’s striker targets this summer.
He explains that Arsenal want to make progress on talks on several fronts simultaneously to avoid being left emptyhanded if talks were to break down.
For now, Šeško does not have a personal agreement with Arsenal. Fellow striker Gyökeres, however, has already given the Premier League runners-up a verbal agreement to join them this summer.
It now remains to be seen if either will be signed this summer. At this moment in time, it appears to be a straight battle between Šeško and Gyökeres for Arsenal.
The Gunners, though, aren’t targeting one over the other and instead negotiating on several fronts to ensure Mikel Arteta gets the striker he needs one way or another.
