Arsenal are now pointed out as a ‘surprise destination’ for Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
It’s barely been one year since the Old Lady signed the player from Sassuolo, making an investment of nearly €40m. However, with him unable to impress manager Massimiliano Allegri, his departure is already being considered.
Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera were the first to cover Locatelli’s situation, and as CalcioMercato.it comes up to comment on the scenario, they point out Arsenal as a contender for his signing.
According to the report, the Gunners had been on the midfielder’s trail ‘for a long time’, before Juventus found a deal with Sassuolo. Now the London side ‘could suddenly return’ for his signing.
Calcio Mercato says Locatelli’s move to Arsenal is a possibility for the summer market. They claim the player could only show ‘flashes’ of his quality at the Bianconeri, and that makes his departure a real possibility at the end of the season.
For now, however, there’s no information on the talks between Gunners and Juventus, as it looks like no more than an idea at this stage.
