AS Roma star Nicolò Zaniolo has ended up in the sights of Arsenal.

The Italy international’s deal runs down in 2024 and news surrounding his renewal has been a regular topic of discussion in his country.

Journalist Ciro Venerato appeared as a guest on Domenica Sportiva, where he talked about the issues concerning the winger’s renewal. The information shared by Venerato about his contract situation and Arsenal is relayed by Italy’s FootballNews24.

Venerato claims Zaniolo would like to receive a fixed salary of €4m per year, while the Giallorossi prefer not to exceed €3.5m annually. These figures will be after tax.

His agent prefers the bonuses to be based on the number of appearances. Roma, for their part, want it to be linked to the overall success of the team.

Apart from these two concerns, José Mourinho’s side would also like to insert a €50m release clause in the new contract. Zaniolo would be willing to accept this condition as long as his salary demands, both fixed and bonuses, are accepted.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Juventus are in the background for the player. The Gunners and the Old Lady are named as ‘interested’ parties in Zaniolo, and are both ‘monitoring the situation’ at Roma.

Mikel Arteta’s side have an opportunity to take advantage of the attacker’s situation at Roma.
