Jonathan David is a man very much in form.

The 20 year old New York born forward plays his international football for Canada, having moved to the country with his family as a child.

With 22 goals and ten assists in 32 games this season, he’s been impressing for Gent, and now Arsenal have been edged into the picture.

HLN report the youngster has been receiving attention for several clubs, and they say Arsenal may be added to the list.

There’s nothing else from the Belgium newspaper on Gunners interest, although it would be no surprise if it exists. In his last six Jupiler League games, David has scored 9 goals, including a hat-trick against STVV on Sunday, which helped his club to a 4-1 victory.

Gent are second behind Club Brugge, and no club has scored more goals in Belgium’s top flight so far this season, and that’s largely down to David.

This all makes the player’s price tag rise, explain HLN, but Gent insist they have no plans to sell him in the summer window, partly because they have David on a contract lasting until 2023.

Arsenal and others will likely continue to watch, and should Jonathan David continue to impress, Gent’s stance may be challenged in a few months.
