Unai Emery is Spanish, so him visiting Spain shouldn’t really be a big deal.
He has family and business interests in Valencia, so visiting the Spanish city is a perfectly normal thing to do.
Despite that, it’s always going to encourage transfer rumours.
The Arsenal manager attended the weekend match between Levante and Atletico Madrid, in Valencia, so the Gunners were immediately credited with interest in members of Diego Simeone’s side.
Now Valencia news outlet, Plaza Deportiva, believe he’s recently had another footballing reason to be in the city.
They report Arsenal are keen on Neto, Los Ches’ goalkeeper. They’ve ‘met with the entourage’ of the Brazilian and already made their ‘first economic offer’ to the player.
So far, he’s not been impressed by the money on offer, but hasn’t ruled out the potential transfer. Emery has, as already been stated, been in Valencia recently, and that’s dropped into the story more as a hint than anything else.
Plaza Deportiva don’t know if there’s been contact with Valencia, which would suggest the information is coming from the player’s camp.
Keylor Navas is also said to be interesting Arsenal, yet there’s no further information on that.
Valencia need to raise €42m in sales before June 30th, in order to balance their accounts.
