PSV Eindhoven don’t want to sell Cody Gakpo any time soon, despite fresh reports of interest from Arsenal.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by SoccerNieuws, who say PSV want to keep the forward for their upcoming Champions League qualifiers.
Gakpo has been linked with a move away from PSV all summer after impressing for them last season, playing a starring role domestically and in Europe.
He has been heavily linked to several Premier League sides, including Arsenal, who were believed to be looking at him earlier this year and have carried that through to the summer.
Fresh reports in England have again linked them with a move, but Eindhovens Dagblad say there is no interest in a sale from PSV.
They say that PSV ‘do not want to do business at the moment’ because they have their Champions League third-round qualifying games to consider.
The first of those against Monaco is scheduled for the 2nd of August, with the return on the 9th, and they want Gakpo to be in the squad to give them a greater chance of qualifying.
The newspaper confirms that there is ‘interest of many clubs’ in Gakpo yet do not name Arsenal specifically.
But even if the Gunners are still keen, it seems a deal will not be happening any time soon, meaning he might be a name to keep an eye for the end of the window instead.
