Even though Lucas Torreira’s loan at Atletico Madrid was far from impressive, the midfielder now seems to be changing things around at Fiorentina, where his first few months are getting huge praise from the local media.
The Arsenal player joined La Viola last summer, and his 13 appearances were apparently enough for the Serie A side to make a decision on his future.
Outlet Fiorentina News today features a piece on Torreira which says the player has found ‘his alter ego’ on the pitch, as he was able to fill a regista position which the club had been searching for a while.
That’s why it’s claimed his ‘future is increasingly tinged with purple’ and now La Viola should use their buying option to sign him permanently.
Arsenal’s agreement with Fiorentina includes a clause to get him permanently for €15m, and according to the report, that’s how much La Viola would pay for the move.
We’re pretty used to seeing Italian clubs negotiating to lower the price of players they have on loan, so it’d actually be surprising to see Torreira’s permanent transfer not becoming another saga.
