Arsenal have sent Albert Sambi Lokonga out on loan since January 2023.

After spending temporary spells in England with Crystal Palace and Luton Town, Arsenal let the midfielder join Sevilla on loan last summer. The La Liga side have an option to buy at the end of this season.

Earlier this month, the Arsenal man said he wants to continue at the Spanish club beyond this season.

El Desmarque claim the 25-year-old’s agent [likely Stijn Francis] was at Sevilla’s training centre on Thursday.

The agent also manages Sevilla’s Dodi Lukebakio and had a meeting yesterday with the club about his two clients. The report states the two parties maintain ‘fluid conversation’ and this may help the Andalusian club retain Lokonga.

It’s too early to discuss about the potential transfer for the Arsenal owned player or his compatriot. However, the representative’s arrival yesterday could give an indication of what will take place in the summer window.

Lokonga has already expressed his desire to continue where he is, and Sevilla are happy with him despite his injury concerns. El Desmarque state the Spanish club are aware that it will be a ‘complex process’ due to Arsenal’s request to sell him.

The Belgian’s contract at the Emirates expires in 2026 and the Gunners could look to cash in from his sale in the next window.
