Sometimes, regardless of your best efforts, a move to a new club doesn’t work out how you expected it would.
That’s certainly been the case for Mohamed Elneny at Besiktas. The Arsenal midfielder moved to the Turkish club on loan in the summer as he sought out more game-time.
He’s certainly been given that at his new club but, things have not exactly gone smoothly, with Besiktas in the relegation zone.
That’s caused several of their summer signings to consider their situation, and we covered a report from Turkey that suggested Elneny was one of them.
He’s reportedly considering a move elsewhere in January, and it appears that AC Milan could be a potential option for him.
Tuttosport report that the Arsenal man has been ‘offered’ to the Serie A side by intermediary Sascha Empacher, who was with the club this week to hold discussions.
It’s not explained how Milan responded to this suggestion, or whether Elneny would be interested in the move.
Similarly, it’s not yet clear whether the Egyptian can end his loan deal and go elsewhere else should he want to.
What is clear is that the Arsenal midfielder is a man in demand and, should he want a change of scenery in January, a move to Italy may be available.
