Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is ‘currently undergoing medical examinations’ in Marseille ahead of a move to the French club.
That’s according to La Provence, who say a loan deal to the Ligue 1 club is now close to being completed.
The Arsenal defender is set to spend a season on loan in France, having been pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Aleksandr Zinchenko.
He had been heavily linked with a move to Italy but reports this week have instead pushed him to France, and Marseille, instead.
La Provence now say those are underway and he is currently undergoing the required tests ahead of his loan move to the French club.
Once those are done the loan deal is ‘expected’ to be completed at some point later today, at which point he will link up with his new, temporary, employers.
